Shaykh Dr. Murtadha Alidina is the Head of the Islamic Education department of The WF.
He attained a medical degree from the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences, Dar es Salaam. He then studied Islamic studies at the Hawza seminary of Qom, for over 15 years, during which he attended classes of its high-ranking scholars. In July 2009, the Seminary of Qom awarded him with an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his work in the field of education and religious propagation.
Known for his meticulous observations, his interests include advanced jurisprudence and its principles, Qur’anic exegesis, and contemporary religious thought.
Under his guidance, the Khoja Shi’a Ithnasheri community has been able to strengthen its relations with the offices of the grand maraji’, high-ranking scholars of the hawza and the wider Islamic world.
